Esmeralda woke at the early hour as was customary for her, slipping from the silk sheets silently so as not to wake the others, though she wasn't sure if it were possible to do so. .
She had showered quickly and towel dried her hair, pausing to study her changing figure in the mirror and wrinkling her nose. She left the bathroom and walked to her dresser, easing the drawers out and digging through them until she found a pair of shorts that still fit her and a t shirt. She had purchased a few items of clothing, but was procrastinating having to actually wear some of them. She slipped into them and started for the door. She paused as a young man rolled over in his sleep on the couch, mumbling something incoherent. She waited a minute, her hand on the knob, to see if he would say anything more, but the only sound was his breathing as he slept on. Lazy arse, she thought with a smile.
She slipped into the hall, closing the door quietly behind her and heading for the kitchens. She had developed a craving for blueberry pancakes and had the house elves prepare them each morning. As she neared the kitchen, she could already smell them cooking. She smiled to herself as she sat at the large mahogany table, juice and a bowl of fresh fruit already laid out for her. It hadn't taken the elves long to learn her habits, likes and dislikes. After she was served, she ate quickly, almost inhaling the food. She couldn't understand his issue's with the way she ate, she certainly wasn't starving. She watched the sun come up through the bay windows of the dining room, highlighting the immaculate gardens almost inch by inch. [/font]

Lucifer woke early like normal to have some breakfast before he would go outside for a swim in the lake, he had found the portrait hole for the kitchen a few weeks ago after exploring the castle and hearing some Hufflepuffs talking about it. He entered the kitchen a towel over his shoulder and his wet suit on so he didn't get cold when he went in the lake.
He didn't notice a girl in there as well, he was stilll trying to wake up he rubbed the one eye that was able to be touched without his mask in the way and winced a little because he forgot he had a black eye, however he carried on and grabbed a glass of fruit juice and a apple and began to munch away as he pulled out a newspaper from under his arm and began to read.

Esmeralda didn't take notice of the boy either until she heard a wincing sound come from the entrance of the kitchen. She picked up her plate from where she was and headed over to the table. She might as well talk to someone whilr she was there.
She walked over to the table and sat down quietly aross from the other student reading the newspaper. She noticed, before she had sat down, his balck eyes. She grew very curious about it and decided to open her mouth to sat something. It was better than just sitting there and looking stupid.
"Umm..pardon my asking, but are you alright?" she asked motioning to his black eye and not even taking notice the mask on his face.. "I don't mean to be nosey, I just wondered if you got harmed." she said folding her arms calmly.

Lucifer looked over at the sound of a voice and saw a girl, he shook his head, "I'm fine thanks," he said in his strong Scottish accent, "Your not being nosey," he said smiling a little, "Whats your name? I'm Lucifer, Lucifer Tavington," he said, "I'm a first year here what about you?" he asked noticing the Slytherin robes she had on made him smile a little.He continued to eat his apple and every now and then stop to sip his juice.

Esmeralda smiled as he spoke and nodded her head"Alright. You've got quite a shiner there on your eye" she said. "Did someone hurt you?" she asked drinking some of her juice.
Esmeralda looked him in the eyes as Lucifer introduced himself.
"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Esmeralda. Rosier. And I'm a first year like you.. It probably doesn't look like it though. I hate that fact " she shrugged her shoulders and smiled slightly and continued to speak as the silence of the kitchens continued on as they sat at the table. "So Lucifer, where are you from? You don't look like you're from my neighborhood."she winked.

Lucifer looked away from her when she asked if someone had hurt him and shook his head, "No...It was my fault and accident that is all walking into things isn't a very good past time," he said smirking a little hiding the fact he was lying.
"I'm from Scotland, well here in fact," considering Hogwarts was in the Scottish highlands, "Where are you from?" he asked her watching her closley. "Its nice to meet you Esmerelda," he said holding out his hand for her to shake.

Esmeralda smiled, noticing that he was laughing about something, like if he was keeping something fom her. "Uh huh......let's see..an accident...a strong guy like you doesn't look like the the type who would run into walls. "she folded her arms. "But I could always be wrong...."she smiled in his direction, watching him with her bright eyes.
She crossed her legs and sighed. "Anyway, Scottland. Pretty cool. I guess you might be one of those highland country boys? Pretty impressive" she said pushing her hair out of her face.
When he asked her where she was from, she slightly rolled her eyes. Not at him but at the thought.
"Me? I lived in Argentine. Now I live in a seaside residance my father bought so he could show my mom what she missed out on when she cheated on him and left us. It's okay...if you like living where you can't see anyone else but your father and siblings for years on end." she said sighing. "But still, I can't complain."
She looked at Lucifer as he held out his hand for her to shake. She gently took his hand and shook it calmly. "Nice to meet you too Mr. Tavington" she winked as they stopped shaking hands. "So..." she got up from her hair to stand and looking out the window. "I suppose you aren't like others at this school then....brave mindless show off's." she said.

"I'm not strong," he said blushing a little, "It really was me waling into things I'm very clumsy," he said throwing his apple core in the bin from where he stood, he moved a bit so he could climb on the counter top and reach some of the higher shelves.
He smiled down at her, "Want a cookie, they always have loads up here," he said pulling down a jar of brightly coloured looking ones, He slipped off the counter and took them over to the table, "Nice that you live in Argentina i think its a nice, wouldn't know haven't left the united kingdom at all," he said smirking.
"I'm only a first year I haven't had time to mature into a brave, mindless show off," he said, "Plus I'm not brave more sneaky than brave," he said pulling out a blue cookie and eating it, "Hmmm maybe I shouldn't eat to much if I'm going swimming," he said aloud more to himself than her.

Esmerelda smiledas she noticed his blush. "Oh really? Could have fooled me" she smiled a little.Her smile faded slightly as Lucifer got up to leave the table. Her eyes followed him sharpely, watching his every move out of the corners of them.
She watched him closely as he offered her the cookie. She nodded her head and took one from him. "Thanks" smiled said grinning at him. "I guess you don't get out too much" she smiled.
"I probably should have known." she grinned and smirked. She looked at Lucifer. "Afraid to get cramps?" she smiled. "Why are you planning to swim by yourself anyway?" she said watching him, taking a bite of her cookie.
